My Very First Week At College

Okay, let's get some background information out of the way first:
I went to a small private school (grades K-12) that consisted of 150 people.
I graduated with a total of seven people in my class.

That being said, you can imagine I was a bit intimidated my first day attending classes at a university holding approximately 12,000 students on campus alone.

I don't think I have ever felt so small than I did the very first time I came to visit the school I am currently attending. This place is huge, is the only thought that consistently crossed my mind as I walked the campus settled on nearly 7,000 acres of owned land. Hundreds of students rushed past either of my shoulders on their way to class as the lady in front of me attempted to catch my attention by describing the library construction that was going on. Her words were lost in my fascination of this new, terrifying place.

Despite my first impressions of this place I now have come to love and call "my second home," I decided to give it another go. After visiting the school a second time-for a whole weekend this go-around-I knew it was where the Lord would have me be. I was unsure, scared, and nervous, but I was willing. Willing to say yes to a simple nudge from the Lord. And although I'm still not sure why He's called me here or for how long, I've already been blessed by just obeying Him.

Alright, all that being said . . . I'm sure you're more interested in the title of this page. "How has my first week been?" you're wondering. Well thank you for asking! Haha.

Over all, my first week has been stressful, but wonderful. This semester I am taking 12 credit hours, which is a total of five classes. For the majority, I love them all so far! My professors are so skilled and passionate about what they bring to each lecture. It's a privilege just to sit in and learn from their experiences. I find that there is something to learn in every class . . . something new to discovery with every hour and fifteen minute period: you just have to willing to learn.

Stressful? Yes. I don't think I've ever been so worn out from one week. I think that partially goes back to the fact that I've been out of the "school-scene" for a year and a half. Waking up early, sitting in a classroom, carrying a backpack . . . I'm just not used to it anymore, but that will come with time (and an extra cup of coffee in the mornings).

So far, I love it here. How I'll feel about it a month from now? I'll be sure to let you know :)
Ta-ta lovelies,
Caroleen Marie

P.S. I'm thinking of starting my blogging schedule out as Monday-Friday-Sunday. With Sunday being a recap of the week before in pictures, and Monday or Friday to be anything imaginable. What do you think? Share your thoughts below or email me at theycallmecaroleen@yahoo.com!
